How To Align Pinned TaskBar Icons To The Center In Windows 10
For some Windows users, placing taskbar to the center of the screen would be a convenient place to access the favorite or frequently used apps; kind of similar to MacOS dock which usually sits in the center bottom of the screen, holding apps you used the most. In case you have not checked yet, but we talked about customizing the taskbar in Windows 10 in our previous article- we kept it simple by sharing step-by-step guides. In that post, we have continued the tutorial to center your taskbar icons in Windows 10.
NOTE- For not so tech-savvy people, Taskdock is a free utility to save you from the stress of going through the customization process share above. 🙂
Guide
Step 1 – Make sure that your taskbar is not locked. Right-click anywhere on the taskbar and uncheck “lock the taskbar.
Step 2- Next step is to create a new toolbar. To do this, right-click anywhere on the taskbar, and then Toolbar>New Toolbar. A Window will open asking you to select a folder.
Step 3- Create a folder with any name. In the tutorial, we are naming it “Center Toolbar”. Select this new folder you have created, and click the open button. You will notice a taskbar has been created next to the system tray/notification area.
Step 4. Next step is to drag the toolbar to align to the center of the taskbar. Click and hold the mouse over the dots and move these dots towards the left of the toolbar, and when you are down, it will look something like as shown in the screenshot below.
Step 5. Place your favorite Application Icons on the toolbar.
Step 6. Hide the toolbar name and labels from these apps icons. To do this, right-click on the toolbar to open the toolbar setting. A context menu will show you setting to hide toolbar name and labels on the application icons. Uncheck these settings to make the change.[Optional] In case you want to use bigger icons on the toolbar, you can do it by going to the toolbar setting menu. Then click on “View”, choose “large icons”.
Step 7. Lock the taskbar again. That it!

There are benchmark guidelines for all the users who have access to the Windows 10 users. They can able to use align pinned taskbars icons to the action center in the Windows 10 platform.
How do I “Place your favorite Application Icons on the toolbar.” Also, how do I align it to the center correctly?
Good little tutorial, but I get stuck at step 5. How do I drag applications onto my custom toolbar? I either get a red circle with a stripe through it or a little box that says ‘link’, but then nothing happens. And programs that are open on the ‘regular’ taskbar can’t be placed onto the custom toolbar either. Hope you can help me out, thanks in advance! 🙂
In step 5,
Open the app you want to pin, say MS Excel. Right click on this opened app in the taskbar. You will see option to “Pin this program to the taskbar” https://tppr.me/cEXH5
